Feral Bueller's Day Off!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved companion for the last 16 years, Feral Bueller, is no longer with us.  Feral came to us as a wild kitten who made the inevitable transition from outside cat to inside/outside cat to inside cat and was our co-adventurer on Sailboat Bob and in our winters caretaking at the lodge.  She even got a litter box for the last couple years of her life!  While we were at the lodge last winter, we noticed a change in her eating patterns and serious weight loss.  It turned out she had kidney failure. By hand feeding and changing flavors about every bite, we were able to have another few months with her!  Below are some photos of our favorite feline:

This is Feral when she first started hanging out on our deck at the Condo Nasty.

Some people thought her sailor outfit made her look like an organ-grinder's monkey!

Queen of the boat!

And many more memories.....

Here are a couple photos from the days right before we lost Feral

We had some sunny days in Sitka and she liked to stop to smell the flowers!

She also enjoyed just being outside on the grass.

This means it's time to come back inside.

She always enjoyed sitting on the window sill and keeping an eye on things in the yard.

She didn't eat for about the last week of her life, but it wasn't for lack of our trying!!!
